Registered Gemologist Appraiser (RGA) Program

The United States Gemological Institute is honored to offer a dedicated Native American Scholarship for qualified applicants seeking enrollment in the Registered Gemologist Appraiser (RGA) Program.

This scholarship was created to support Native American youth who have a genuine interest in gemology, jewelry appraisal, and the jewelry industry, but who may not otherwise have access to formal professional education due to financial or geographic limitations. Our goal is to help remove barriers and provide a clear, attainable pathway into a respected and rewarding profession. Scholarships will be awarded each calendar season. Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall.

Who Should Apply

We encourage applications from Native American students who:

  • Have an interest in gemstones, jewelry, or appraisal work

  • Are motivated to pursue professional education and certification

  • Are seeking financial assistance to make gemology education possible

  • Wish to build a long-term career in gemology, jewelry appraisal, or a related field

Prior gemology experience is not required.

About the Scholarship

rg toolsSelected recipients will receive full tuition assistance toward the Registered Gemologist Appraiser (RGA) Program. Scholarship will include the basic Gem Equipment Package as seen at left once the student completes the first 4 modules of the program. Scholarship awards are based on a combination of interest, motivation, and individual circumstances, and are intended to help students successfully complete the program.
